İnsanın Hürriyet Sınavı: Kesb, Fıtrat ve İstikamet Üzerine Bir Tahlil

Abstract

AbstractThis paper examines the problem of human freedom and responsibility through the concepts of kasb (acquisition), fitrah (primordial nature), and istiqāmah (moral direction) within the framework of Islamic thought. Drawing primarily on the interpretive horizon of Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır and supported by classical kalām perspectives, it argues that human action emerges at the intersection of divine creation and human orientation. While the cosmic order operates through necessity, human existence unfolds within a field of choice, where direction, rather than action itself, becomes decisive. The study highlights the tension between innate disposition and acquired tendencies, emphasizing that deviation is not the loss of truth but a turning away from it. Ultimately, it proposes that human beings become the trajectory they consistently choose, and that freedom gains meaning only when aligned with truth.
