Leishmania mexicana (strain U1103) genome and proteome

Abstract

This dataset contains the genome, coding and protein sequences determined for Leishmania mexicana (strain MHOM/GT/2001/U1103). This genome sequence was assembled de novo using capillary sequencing reads generated from a whole genome shotgun library by Rogers et al (2011. PMID: 22038252). The genome is assembled into 34 pseudo-chromosomes and 554 additional contigs without a precise chromosomal assignment. The Fasta files included in this dataset were downloaded from TriTrypDB (release 67; May 21, 2025). According to the TriTrypDB notes, this genome version corresponds to the NCBI entry GCA_000234665.4
