Abstract

Chelonus (Carinichelonus) siangensis Ranjith & Priyadarsanan, 2023 (Fig 4A–D) Material examined. 2 females, INDIA: Assam, Chubwa Tea Estate, 27˚28'19"N, 95˚10'19"E, 21.xi.2024, coll. Sheela, S. & Party, Reg. No. 35419/H3–35420/H3 (NZC-ZSI). Biology. Unknown. Distribution. India (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam) (Fig. 5). Note: All morphological characters similar with the type description. The species earlier reported only from its type locality, Arunachal Pradesh. Here it is reported from Assam, a neighboring state to Arunachal Pradesh (Fig. 5). This discovery not only extends the distribution range for this species, but also solidifies the existence of this species in Eastern Himalaya region.
