Bibliography of Canonical Robinsonades

Abstract

This dataset provides a structured bibliography of canonical Robinsonades. It includes works in four languages—English, French, Spanish, and Italian. Based on the concept of the ontological Robinsonade (Lojacono 2014), the bibliography focuses on novels in which insularity functions as an existential condition rather than a simple adventure motif. A short two-slide definition of this particular type of island novel is also provided. The dataset brings together selected results of ongoing research and is intended as a working tool for scholars, offering a corpus of canonical texts as well as commented related works designed to support research in insular narratives. It aims to encourage the identification of additional ontological Robinsonades and to contribute to the development and refinement of the concept within the broader field of insular fiction.
