THE ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN TEACHING ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has significantly influenced modern education, particularly in the field of foreign language learning. Artificial intelligence provides new opportunities for improving teaching methods, personalizing learning processes, and enhancing students' engagement. The aim of this study is to examine the role of artificial intelligence in teaching English as a foreign language and analyze its benefits and challenges in modern educational environments. The research is based on the analysis of existing scientific literature and practical applications of AI-based tools in language education. The results show that AI technologies can improve language acquisition by providing personalized learning experiences, automated feedback, and interactive learning environments. At the same time, effective implementation of AI requires proper integration with traditional teaching methods and the development of digital competencies among teachers and students. The study concludes that artificial intelligence has the potential to significantly transform English language teaching and make learning more effective and accessible.
