Quebec Arrivals Database 1817-1839

Abstract

The Quebec gazette/La gazette de Québec, 1817-1839, Collections de BAnQ. Years 1817-1833 and 1835 were collected from the Ships List website, https://www.theshipslist.com/ships/Arrivals/index.htm. We transcribed five additional years. The Quebec Arrivals Database includes 17,783 records of vessels arriving in Quebec City. The information was collected from The data was cleaned, normalized and turned into visualizations using Python, Open Refine and Excel. Version 1 was an error; I shared a copy saved from a filtered copy of the data where half the ships were missing. Sorry if I caused any confusion or errors in other people's work.
