Autonomía condicionada y reproducción educativa: familia, economía y elección de carrera en el Ecuador contemporáneo

Abstract

Este artículo analiza la relación entre la autonomía condicionada y reproducción educativa en el proceso de elección de carrera universitaria, con énfasis en el papel de la familia y la economía, en estudiantes de bachillerato de la Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo (UTEQ) en Ecuador. Mediante un estudio cuantitativo transversal con 1145 participantes, se aplicó un cuestionario; los datos se analizaron con regresión de Poisson y pruebas de Tukey. Los resultados muestran predominio de la influencia familiar, aunque con falta de estímulo de intereses personales. Las condiciones económicas son ponderadas para la mayoría, pero un determinante limitado para una minoría en la toma de decisión. Esto sustenta que la autonomía se construye en la confluencia del capital cultural familiar y económico, requiriendo políticas de orientación vocacional familiar y sistemas de ayuda financiera diferenciada para promover una elección más autónoma.
