Youth identity in urban Morocco is a subject of increasing interest within African studies, particularly as it intersects with political participation. The research employs qualitative interviews and focus group discussions among young Moroccans aged 18-30, supplemented by secondary data analysis of existing political participation surveys. Findings indicate that youth identity significantly influences their perceptions of political efficacy and engagement levels, with a notable trend towards increased civic activism in urban areas compared to rural settings. The study underscores the importance of understanding youth identities for enhancing inclusive political processes in Morocco. Future research should consider longitudinal studies to track changes over time and incorporate more diverse methodologies such as surveys and public opinion polls.
