Abstract

This working paper presents preliminary observations on coins in Blemmyan contexts in the Eastern Desert and the Red Sea region. The text was originally prepared for a collaborative publication but was not included in the final version. It is published here in order to document ongoing research and to provide transparency regarding the development of the author's interpretation. The research presented in this paper is conducted within the framework of the project History from coins: the use and value of coins in the ancient Western Indian Ocean ports, funded by the National Science Centre, Poland (NCN), project no. 2021/43/D/HS3/00350. The document represents work in progress and should not be cited without the author's permission.
