Ultrasound and Menstrual Health Assessment of Reproductive‑Aged Female Students in Nigeria: Uterine, Ovarian, Renal, Bladder, Menstrual, and Lifestyle Parameters

Abstract

This dataset contains comprehensive ultrasound, menstrual health, biodemographic, and lifestyle information collected from reproductive‑aged female students in Nigeria. The dataset was generated from a single, large‑scale project designed to investigate menstrual physiology and pelvic organ measurements across different menstrual phases. It includes detailed ultrasound assessments of the uterus, ovaries, kidneys, and bladder, alongside menstrual cycle characteristics such as menarcheal age, cycle length, cycle regularity, menstrual symptoms, and phase‑specific variations. The dataset also captures lifestyle factors (alcohol use, smoking), biodemographic variables (age, BMI), and a range of gynecological pathologies including ovarian cysts, PCOS‑related features, pouch of Douglas fluid, uterine fibroids, polyps, and adenomyosis. These measurements were collected across multiple menstrual phases to enable evaluation of physiological fluctuations throughout the cycle. This dataset supports four distinct studies examining:(1) menarcheal age, uterine dimensions, and menstrual irregularities;(2) ovarian dimensions and ovarian pathologies across menstrual phases;(3) uterine pathologies in relation to menstrual disturbances and lifestyle factors; and(4) menstrual‑cycle‑related variations in kidney length and bladder volume.
