Urban Ghana is characterized by rapid technological advancement, including significant adoption of social media platforms by diverse demographics. A qualitative content analysis approach will be employed to examine existing literature and expert insights on social media use in urban settings in Ghana. The theoretical framework proposes that social media serves as a scaffolding for new communication modalities, facilitating rapid information dissemination and community cohesion. Future research should focus on longitudinal studies to observe changes over time and the impact of regulatory measures on social media use in urban Ghanaian communities.
