
This document outlines the strategic role of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) and its priorities for the coming years within the evolving European research and innovation infrastructure ecosystem. Building on more than 25 years of experience in strategic coordination, ESFRI highlights the importance of maintaining a holistic approach that integrates research, technology, data, and digital infrastructures. The document identifies key priorities including strengthening strategic foresight, consolidating the infrastructure ecosystem, contributing to the governance of the emerging EU coordination framework for research and technology infrastructures, and maximizing the impact of ESFRI’s methodologies. It reflects discussions initiated in the ESFRI White Paper and further developed during the “Future of ESFRI” workshop in Brno.
