Abstract

Abstract: This article analyzes the impact of merit-based pay on the professional practices of teachers in Morocco, based on a literature review and an empirical study conducted with a sample of secondary school teachers, students, and school administrators. The results show that this mechanism can serve as a motivating factor, but its effectiveness depends on the implementation of fair, transparent evaluation mechanisms adapted to the Moroccan educational context. Keywords: Merit-based pay, teacher motivation, educational performance, evaluation mechanisms, education policy.
