CUIDADOS DE ENFERMERÍA EN PEDIATRÍA: REVISIÓN NARRATIVA DE LA EVIDENCIA ACTUAL

Abstract

Article type: Narrative review Introduction: The role of nursing with paediatric patients is aimed at meeting their physical needs and ensuring that basic questions arising for both patients and their families in the clinical context are answered. The objective is to evaluate nursing care within the field of paediatrics. Methodology: The search for studies was conducted in PubMed and the Cochrane Library. Studies with scientific evidence published in the last 5 years were included. Results: The number of studies included was n=8. The results showed the importance of psychological care, educational interventions, and family practices. The main barriers were the lack of training for nursing staff, their working conditions, and the resignation of institutions. Discussion: Assessment in paediatrics and health promotion are fundamental pillars for advancing the treatment of the various pathologies that affect paediatric patients. Barriers related to training or employment status have been documented. Conclusions: Nursing resources exist to ensure adequate care for paediatric patients. Further research is suggested to foster authentic interactions with patients and nurses.
