Abstract

Η καλλιέργεια καρυδιάς (Juglans regia) έχει μακρά ιστορία σε μεγάλα μέρη της Ευρώπης, συμπεριλαμβανομένης της Γερμανίας, που χρονολογείται από τους Ρωμαϊκούς χρόνους. Σήμερα, τα καρύδια εκτιμώνται ιδιαίτερα στην αγορά, ειδικά για τους θρεπτικούς καρπούς τους και το πολύ ανθεκτικό σκληρό ξύλο τους. Η ενσωμάτωσή τους σε αγροδασικά συστήματα μπορεί να αυξήσει την κερδοφορία κατά 10 έως 50%.
