FRBRize it! – Differenzierte Werkerfassung in digitalen Editionen am Beispiel Buber-Korrespondenzen Digital

Abstract

Das Projekt 'Buber-Korrespondenzen Digital' (BKD) widmet sich der umfangreichen Korrespondenz des deutsch-jüdischen Religionsphilosophen Martin Buber (1878–1965). Die mehr als 43.000 überlieferten Briefe spiegeln den Netzwerkcharakter seines Wirkens und erlauben einen tiefen Einblick in die Entstehungs- und Publikationsprozesse der Werke sowohl Bubers als auch zahlreicher anderer Intellektueller des 20. Jahrhunderts. Für die Erfassung von Werken genügen BKD die herkömmlichen bibliographischen Methoden nicht: Das Projekt möchte vollständige Angaben zu einem Werk machen, wo diese vorhanden und relevant sind, aber dort ausreichend vage bleiben, wo es auch die Briefschreibenden sind, ohne dabei die Zusammenhänge zwischen diesen Werken zu verlieren. Ausgehend von diesen Bedarfen erprobt BKD ein innovatives System, das sich an dem ursprünglich für Bibliotheken entwickelten Modell FRBR (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records) orientiert. Das Poster zeigt am Beispiel der für Bubers Wirken zentralen 'Drei Reden über das Judentum' die differenzierte Dynamik des Modells und seiner Derivate.
