Abstract

This study, carried out within the activities of Spoke 8 of the PNRR CHANGES program, aimed at acquiring methodological tools for the archiving and processing of archaeological data, was conducted with the objective of defining an area in which to undertake archaeological investigations in order to verify the validity of the photo-interpretation and to deepen our understanding of the patterns of occupation of the peri-urban territory of Veii. The research was based on the analysis of historical aerial images relating to the suburban necropolises of the city of Veii, preserved at the National Aerophotographic Archive of the ICCD, together with several satellite images and low-altitude oblique photographs used for comparison with the current situation.
