Realising a Humanising Society, Trusting our Humanity, Realising the Existentiality of Love

Abstract

This paper, submitted to the V20 2022 under the G20 Indonesia Presidency's "Values at the Center" track, proposes a meta-policy framework for the emergence of policies that value humanity, love, and life. Drawing on the Tamkeen Approach, a co-created, experience-based process of inquiry and shared understanding developed in Tangier, Morocco, the authors argue that prevailing governance models and societal systems have become dissociated from human values, perpetuating dehumanising social practices. The paper calls for a shift toward humanising governance grounded in epistemic humility, complexity navigation, and the recognition of love as existential to human flourishing. It offers six guiding principles for policymakers seeking to co-create conditions for societal metamorphosis.
