
Chia (Salvia hispanica L.) is an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family and is considered one of the most valuable functional crops in modern agriculture due to its high nutritional value. In recent years, interest in chia cultivation has significantly increased worldwide because of its rich content of omega-3 fatty acids, proteins, dietary fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. The introduction of new crops into different agro-ecological regions is an important direction in modern agriculture and plant science. This study analyzes the biological and ecological characteristics of chia plants and evaluates the prospects for their introduction and cultivation in new environmental conditions. The research also highlights the importance of chia as a promising crop for sustainable agriculture and healthy nutrition. Special attention is given to climatic requirements, soil conditions, growth characteristics, and cultivation technology of the plant. The results indicate that chia has significant potential for cultivation in various regions due to its adaptability and high economic value.
