O‘simlik pigmentlari, xususan xlorofill molekulalarida yorug‘lik fotonlarining yutilishi, elektronlarning qo‘zg‘algan holatga o‘tishi va keyinchalik radiatsion qaytish jarayonlari kvant mexanikasi qonunlari asosida tahlil qilinadi. Flyuoressensiyaning spektral xususiyatlari, Stoks siljishi, kvant samaradorligi va vaqt parametrlari matematik ifodalar orqali ko‘rib chiqiladi.
