Abstract

Interroger ce que signifie réellement « participer » est un plus grand défi qu’il n’y paraît. Derrière une « invitation à participer » se cachent en réalité des rapports de pouvoir et des usages « institutionalisés » parfois ambigus. Alors ? La participation ressource d’émancipation ou instrument d’injonction ou de contrôle ? Frédéric Heselmans et Bruno Frère aborderont dans cette conférence la participation dans ce qu’elle représente en termes éthiques et politiques au prisme des expériences vécues et de situations concrètes. En explorant les formes d’auto-organisation et les initiatives collectives qui inventent de nouvelles manières de « faire démocratie », dans les marges comme dans le quotidien, cette conférence invitera à penser la participation non comme un slogan, mais comme un terrain vivant, qui interpelle aussi directement les travailleurs sociaux et leurs pratiques professionnelles.
