Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the impact of taxation on transfer pricing practices of publicly listed multinational enterprises at the Casablanca Stock Exchange over the period 2019–2024, using a panel data approach. In the context of recent tax reforms and the adoption of OECD BEPS standards, we analyze how firms adjust their profit-shifting strategies in response to fiscal incentives and regulatory constraints. Empirical results show that tax pressure has a significant negative effect on transfer pricing, confirming that firms reduce profit transfers in high-tax jurisdictions. Additionally, firm size emerges as a significant positive determinant, indicating that larger multinationals have greater organizational capacity to structure and internalize intragroup transactions. These findings highlight the combined role of taxation and organizational characteristics in transfer pricing decisions and provide valuable insights for tax authorities and the regulation of multinationals in emerging markets.
