Abstract Leela Pendharkar was one of the pioneering actresses who appeared on Indian screen in 1930s. In this research article Life sketch and her film career is thoroughly discussed along with struggle the researcher attempted to throw light on the position of women artists in the beginning of the film media. Filmography and salient features of use the Leela Pendharkar’s films are also discussed here.
