Nairobi's informal settlements face significant challenges in addressing gender-based violence (GBV), with limited formal support networks and often ineffective interventions. The assessment utilised qualitative data collection methods including participant interviews, focus group discussions, and document review to analyse GBV programme outcomes in these areas. Community support network formations were most active during the first year post-intervention, with a significant proportion of female participants reporting increased confidence and reduced isolation. Effective GBV intervention programmes require sustained community engagement and tailored support mechanisms to foster long-term empowerment and safety for victims in informal settlements. Policy recommendations include strengthening community outreach efforts, providing ongoing training for facilitators, and integrating gender-based violence prevention into broader development initiatives.
