Zurich Overnight Visitor Logs ("Nachtzedel") 1780-1792: Extracted Data

Abstract

This dataset contains structured, machine-readable data of the Zürcher Nachtzedel (Zurich Overnight Visitor Logs), provided in JSON and CSV formats. The data were extracted from scanned images from the years 1780–1785, 1787–1788, and 1790–1792. The data includes high-quality transcriptions and normalized guest attributes, such as names, origins, and professions, as well as georeferenced coordinates for historical locations. These were generated through an LLM-assisted workflow with thorough human control and data cleaning.
