Abstract

The textbook contains the theoretical material which is intended for the achievement of the competences by higher education applicants according to the requirements of the International convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, and the Seafarers' Training, Certification and Watchkeeping Code (with amendments) to enable the students to acquire the practical skills under the Chapter VI "Functions related to accidents, safety techniques, medical inspection and survival" shown on the tables А-VІ/1, А-VІ/2, А-VІ/3, А-VІ/4, А-VІ/6, which offers provides an opportunity to obtain respective certificates. The data presented in the textbook corresponds to the syllabus of the discipline "Safety and Security at Sea". The textbook can be used when preparing sea-going ships personnel who are receiving further training.
