Replication Data for: Multi-Layer Fitness and the Service Complexity Paradox in Post-Industrial Economies

Abstract

This repository contains the harmonized panel dataset and econometric analysis outputs supporting the research article "Multi-Layer Fitness and the Service Complexity Paradox in Post-Industrial Economies". The dataset covers 41 economies over the period 2007–2023. It includes variables on macroeconomic dynamics (GDP per capita growth, unemployment), structural capabilities (Economic Fitness, Economic Complexity Index, High-technology exports), and institutional governance indicators (Worldwide Governance Indicators). The repository also includes comprehensive EViews output files for the econometric methodologies utilized in the study, including Panel Unit Root tests (CIPS, PANIC), Kao Residual Cointegration, Vector Error Correction Models (VECM), Dumitrescu-Hurlin Panel Granger Causality, and Markov-Switching VAR (MS-VAR) estimates.

Keywords

Governance, Markov-Switching VAR, Economic Complexity, Macroeconomics, System GMM, Multi-Layer Fitness
