Abstract

El derecho internacional clásico, codificado en instrumentos como la Convención de Montevideo de 1933, establece que el Estado soberano es la entidad que reúne cuatro elementos fundamentales: una población permanente, un territorio definido, un gobierno efectivo y la capacidad para entablar relaciones con otros Estados. México cumple cabalmente con estos requisitos: posee una población de más de 130 millones de habitantes, un territorio de 1.96 millones de kilómetros cuadrados, un gobierno constitucional establecido desde 1917 y una activa participación en foros multilaterales como la ONU y la OEA, así como en acuerdos comerciales como el TMEC. Esta condición lo posiciona como un actor central y protagónico en el escenario internacional.
