Discurso de odio y desorden informativo

Abstract

Este Recurso Educativo Abierto (OER) analiza la relación entre el discurso de odio y el desorden informativo, poniendo especial atención en sus efectos sobre grupos vulnerables y en su impacto en la cohesión social y el debate democrático. El recurso distingue conceptualmente entre desinformación (difusión intencional de información falsa para causar daño), misinformation o información errónea no intencional, y malinformación (uso estratégico de información veraz con intención de perjudicar). A partir de la definición de la Comisión Europea contra el Racismo y la Intolerancia (ECRI, 2015), el OER explica el discurso de odio como la promoción, incitación o justificación de la denigración, el odio o la violencia contra personas o grupos en función de determinadas características personales. Se presentan sus múltiples manifestaciones: metáforas deshumanizadoras, insultos, memes “humorísticos”, amenazas, glorificación de la violencia o humillación corporal. Asimismo, se subraya que el discurso de odio puede expresarse de manera indirecta, por ejemplo mediante la ironía. El recurso destaca las consecuencias psicológicas y sociales del discurso de odio, como la carga mental en víctimas y testigos, el silenciamiento, la incitación a la violencia y la polarización social. También muestra cómo el discurso de odio y el desorden informativo se refuerzan mutuamente, afectando especialmente a personas refugiadas, mujeres, minorías religiosas, personas queer y otros colectivos vulnerables. Este OER forma parte del proyecto europeo GEDIS (Gender Diversity in Information Science) y contribuye al desarrollo de una alfabetización mediática crítica y a la promoción de entornos educativos inclusivos.
