Trimodal Corridor KPI Dataset for Multimodal Freight Analysis in Germany (Hamburg–Basel Axis, T1–T6)

Authors: Guruprasad Jinaga;

Trimodal Corridor KPI Dataset for Multimodal Freight Analysis in Germany (Hamburg–Basel Axis, T1–T6)

Abstract

This dataset contains the structured analytical inputs and calculated Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) used to evaluate multimodal freight transport performance across six predefined German corridor segments forming a north–south axis from Hamburg to Weil am Rhein. The dataset supports a comparative assessment of Road (truck), Rail (electric freight train), and Inland Waterway Transport (barge) under controlled scenario conditions. The dataset was developed to enable reproducible benchmarking, sustainability trade-off analysis, and scenario sensitivity evaluation within a decision-support framework implemented in Microsoft Power BI. It operationalizes multimodal freight comparison through three harmonized performance dimensions: Economic performance (cost per tonne-kilometre) Operational performance (total transit time) Environmental performance (CO₂e emission intensity, WTW boundary) All results derived from this dataset follow a frozen scope and fixed slicer protocol to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
