Cross-Modal Persona Degradation: When Embodied Agent Configurations Meet Text-Only Runtimes

Abstract

Position paper identifying and characterizing cross-modal persona contamination: a failure mode in which large language models misinterpret physical specification fields as behavioral persona traits when embodied agent configurations (designed for robotics/IoT) are loaded into text-only runtimes. Proposes a five-type taxonomy: Attribute Leakage, Behavioral Mismatch, Safety Rule Confusion, Identity Pollution, and Capability Hallucination.
