Puertos atlánticos y mediterráneos en el suroeste de la Península Ibérica durante la Edad de Hierro: un viaje de ida y vuelta

Abstract

Esta contribución aborda la actividad portuaria en época prerromana, concretamente de la Edad de Hierro, en algunos enclaves estratégicos, tomando como referencia las ciudades objeto de estudio del proyecto DEATLANTIR. De este modo, son analizadas las evidencias arqueológicas relacionadas con actividades portuarias de las actuales ciudades de Faro, Tavira, Mértola, Huelva, Sevilla y Cádiz. Dentro de los elementos que nos interesan, han sido estudiadas las estructuras relacionadas con dependencias portuarias, así como los artefactos y ecofactos que indiquen que existe dicha actividad, aunque sea de manera indirecta. Con ello, estamos en disposición de conocer los productos de importación y exportación, así como las relaciones comerciales entre los enclaves que tratamos. Un análisis comparativo nos permite llegar a conclusiones generales en el apartado final, en cuanto a la unidad cultural y económica de todos los enclaves estudiados, así como de las rutas comerciales conocidas. Podemos avanzar que a pesar de que no existía una unidad política para el conjunto del suroeste peninsular durante la Edad de Hierro, la unidad cultural y comercial hasta la llegada de Roma es innegable.
