Deliverable D4.2: Initial evaluation of ORIGAMI solutions and services exploiting exposure and continuum layer

Abstract

Building on the project’s mission to remove technological barriers from the 6G era, this deliverable focuses on the preliminary assessment of Network Intelligence (NI) solutions. These solutions leverage three core architectural innovations, namely Global Service-based Architecture (GSBA), the Zero-Trust Exposure Layer (ZTL), and the Compute Continuum Layer (CCL), to enhance security and efficiency of evolving mobile infrastructures. By utilizing advance analytics techniques, the project aims to bridge the gap between theoretical 6G designs and functional, high-performing network services. A primary objective of this report is the establishment of rigorous validation plans for the Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) of the defined use cases. These frameworks span the Radio Access Network (RAN), transport and core domains, ensuring that every innovation is measurable against project-focused Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This structured approach allows for a standardized evaluation of performance across diverse experimentation platforms. Additionally, the document provides initial results for mature NI solutions, offering empirical evidence of their impact on network reliability and sustainability. These evaluations utilize a variety of environments to confirm that the solutions can tackle the intended technical requirements. Preliminary measurements demonstrate significant progress in optimizing resources and achieving carrier-grade performance. Finally, this deliverable includes a comprehensive methodology for validating Key Value Indicators (KVIs). This framework extends the project’s success metrics to include broader industrial goals, specifically focusing on environmental sustainability through energy efficiency, economic sustainability and fundamental trustworthiness of the network architecture.
