Objective: The study aimed to measure blood profile in Wistar rats treated orally with Aluminum chloride. Experimental design: Fifty rats (average body weight 109 g) were divided into five groups (10 male per group) as follow: Group one (G1) represented control (without treatment), Group two (G2) received tap water, Group three (G3) received 50 mg/kg/day Al Cl3, Group four (G4) received 60 mg/kg/day dose of Al Cl3and Group five (G5) received 70 mg/kg/day dose of Al Cl3. The treatments were given orally by gavages and continued daily for 60 days. Then blood sample was collected from each rat and measured for blood profile. Material and Methods: The techniques were performed according to Automated Haematology Analyser (Sysmex Kx-2IN, Japan, 2009). Results: The results for aluminum chloride were indicated that Hb, RBC, PCV, MCV, MCH, WBCs, Lymphocytes and Neutrophils were significant at p≤ 0.05 except MCHC and MCV were not significant. Conclusion: We conclude that, aluminum chloride decrease red blood cell counts, hemoglobin, hematocrit and increase white blood cell counts, lymphocytes, corpuscular volume, corpuscular haemoglobin concentration.
