Historical governance dilemmas in Ethiopia have shaped contemporary challenges, particularly in areas of political stability, economic development, and social equity. The study employs a qualitative analysis approach to review primary sources such as archival documents, interviews with key informants, and secondary literature on Ethiopian history and politics. Key themes emerge in the governance structure, including centralized control versus decentralized decision-making, which have influenced current policy decisions and public outcomes. The historical context reveals persistent challenges that continue to impact contemporary governance practices in Ethiopia. Recommendations include a balanced approach between centralization and decentralization of power to enhance governance effectiveness and address existing disparities.
