This dataset provides six annual burned-area maps derived from an analysis of Sentinel-2 imagery (spatial resolution: 20 m x 20 m) for calendar years 2019–2024. The annual raster files (20-meter spatial resolution) available here in geotif format were generated by summing monthly burned-area detections, with pixel values representing the number of months in which a pixel was classified as “burned”. A value of 0 indicates no burn detection during the year; a value of 1 indicates the pixel was detected as burned once (i.e. in one month); a value of 2 indicates the pixel was detected as burned twice (i.e. in two months), and so forth. A table of monthly burned-area totals (in hectares), used to generate the figures in the manuscript, is also provided as a spreadsheet. ChangelogVersion 2 (19 March 2026): Added a spreadsheet providing monthly burned-area totals (in hectares).
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
