
The growing global emphasis on environmental sustainability has extended into healthcare, including dentistry. Conventional dental materials—while effective—often involve resource-intensive manufacturing, non-biodegradable components, and mercury-containing compounds that raise ecological concerns. Eco-friendly dental materials aim to reduce environmental impact while maintaining clinical performance and patient safety. This mini review explores recent developments, material innovations, environmental implications, and future directions in sustainable dentistry.
