Magnetopause and Bow Shock Boundary Crossings at Jupiter

Abstract

This dataset compiles all magnetopause and bow shock boundary crossings at Jupiter identified so far from past missions Pioneer 10, Pioneer 11, Voyager 1, Voyager 2, Ulysses, The Galileo Orbiter, as well as from mission Juno (currently updated as of October 2025). Each crossing entry has: UTC datetime (format YYYY-DOYTHH:MM:SS) Date (format M/D/YYYY) Time (format HH:MM:SS, in 24-hour time) Boundary (magnetopause or bow shock) Spacecraft Location of Crossing (using the JSS Cartesian Coordinate System, in units of Rj: X_JSS, Y_JSS, Z_JSS, R) From/To Region (Juno crossings only) Perijove/Orbit (Juno crossings only) We use Rj = 71,492 km. The spreadsheet has four tabs: Tab 1 = Read Me, Tab 2 = All, Tab 3 = MP, Tab 4 = BS
