Abstract

Cet ouvrage collectif guide le lecteur dans un long parcours historique, parsemé de mémoires occultées et de savoirs humanisés. Il s’agit donc d’une entreprise scientifique et humaine amenant le lecteur à mieux comprendre les dynamiques sociales en lien avec les poids historiques des héritages du colonialisme et de l’esclavagisme du passé au présent, concoctés à partir du XVe siècle par des édits pontificaux suivis des édits royaux pour la colonisation continuelle des Afriques et des Amériques, la traite et la « servitude perpétuelle » des Nègres rebondissant sur le monde contemporain. En contexte postcolonial, il cartographie à l’échelle mondiale un système de recolonisation de la pensée à l’occidentale et de reproduction du savoir exogène, au mépris des savoirs épistémiques endogènes, avant de rapporter les engagements publics des chercheur·e·s pour la décolonisation du savoir, pour la justice épistémique et réparatrice par-delà les frontières et les chantiers académiques.
