Eddy Covariance measurements at Hartheim Research Forest Site (DE-Har) from 2025-01-01 to 2025-12-31 [RAW]

Abstract

Original raw high-frequency eddy covariance data and on-site processed turbulent fluxes for the year 2025 from above the forest canopy at Hartheim Forest Research Site (ICOS Associate Ecosystem Site DE-Har, UFR Code: HARTHM, 7.59814ºE, 47.93391ºN, 201 m). The eddy covariance system was operated at 29 m on the site's main 30 m tower facing west using an CSAT3 ultrasonic anemometer and a Licor Inc. Li-7200RS enclosed-path analyzer connected to a SmartFlux system running Eddy Pro from Licor Inc. in Express Mode. For final processed and quality-controlled fluxes, please download the official ICOS data available for DE-Har through the ICOS Carbon Portal and please cite the original ICOS dataset: Christen, A., Baab, F., Kolbe, S., Plapp, T., Redepenning, D., Schindler, D. (2025). ETC L2 Fluxnet (half-hourly) from Hartheim, 2020–2024, ICOS RI, https://hdl.handle.net/11676/cZo501fvhRAq-THssFhKz5D4 This repository only provides the underlying raw unchecked, unfiltered and original data from the DE-Har system not available above for purposes of documentation and future reprocessing. Use with caution. The orginical high-freuqency (20 Hz) data are available as LICOR .ghg files packaged in monthly tarball archives (e.g. 2025-01.tar contains all .ghg files of the SmartFlux system for the month of January) The processed fluxes from the on-site system are available in one combined annual summary file "DE-Har-SmartFlux-Combined-2025.csv") Note: All times (both ghg and Summary) are provided in UTC, not local time. Specific notes on the 2025 dataset: Due to a technical failure of the Li7200, there are no data available data between 2025-09-09 and 2025-10-06. The sensor has been sent for repair and re-calibration. The system was re-installed on 2025-10-07T 08:30 UTC Data bewteen 2025-10-07 and 2025-11-27 were recorded at 10 Hz instead of 20Hz. The sensor has been changed back to 20 Hz on 2025-11-27.
