Politische Texte zum Thema Klimawandel automatisch identifizieren: Ein XGBoost Modell

Abstract

Wir präsentieren einen Klassifikator zur automatischen Filterung von deutschen Texten, die das Thema Klimawandel ansprechen. Für das Englische existiert ein solches Modell bereits mit ClimateBERT (Webersinke et al., 2022), uns ist jedoch kein solches Tool für deutschsprachige Texte bekannt. Der Klassifikator wurde auf Texten von offziellen Organen der deutschen Partei AfD trainiert und wir zeigen, dass er auch parteiübergreifend das Thema zuverlässig erfasst. Der Klassifikator wird demnächst öffentlich gemacht, um Forschende bei der thematischen Textfilterung zu unterstützen.
