BIOBUILD Poster at FutureBuild Belgium

Abstract

The BIOBUILD project was presented at FutureBuild Belgium, the largest sustainability-focused construction fair in Belgium, held in January 2026 at Brussels Expo, Belgium. The event brings together key stakeholders from industry, academia, and the construction sector to exchange knowledge and showcase innovations in sustainable building. The Research Group Energy and Materials in Infrastructure and Buildings (EMIB) from the University of Antwerp hosted a dedicated stand within the Academy Campus area. Several research initiatives were presented, including BIOBUILD, which was prominently featured through a poster presentation by Ing. Rafael Alvarez Gutiérrez and Ing. Harry Seuntjens. The poster highlighted preliminary results from the sustainability and energy performance assessment of the bio-based solutions currently being developed within the project. The stand attracted significant interest from visitors, including researchers, industry professionals, and other presenters, generating valuable discussions around BIOBUILD’s innovative approaches. In addition to the poster presentation, Ing. Harry Seuntjens delivered a presentation on bio-based construction, further promoting the project’s objectives and strengthening its visibility among stakeholders in the sustainable construction sector.
