Abstract

El área de Compras enfrenta el desafío de equilibrar las demandas operativas con las necesidades estratégicas del Procurement 4.0. La Inteligencia Artificial (IA) surge como una herramienta esencial para optimizar este proceso. Este estudio exploratorio analiza cómo se está aplicando la IA en las compras corporativas. A través de una metodología de marco explicativo, basada en el análisis de literatura y estudios de caso (2022–2025), la investigación identifica las principales aplicaciones de la IA. Los resultados indican que la IA se utiliza para optimizar la selección de proveedores, automatizar la “cola larga” con “Compradores Virtuales”, apoyar la negociación de CAPEX (mediante el análisis de Cost Breakdown) y estandarizar los registros de materiales mediante PLN. Se concluye que, a pesar de las barreras significativas—como la necesidad de depuración de datos y el desarrollo de nuevas competencias—, la IA es fundamental para la eficiencia operativa y la toma de decisiones estratégicas en Suministros.

A Inteligência Artificial (IA) surge como uma ferramenta essencial para otimizar este processo. Este estudo exploratório analisa como a IA está sendo aplicada nas compras corporativas. Através de uma metodologia de quadro explicativo, baseada na análise de literatura e estudos de caso (2022-2025), a pesquisa identifica as principais aplicações da IA. Os resultados indicam que a IA é usada para otimizar a seleção de fornecedores, automatizar a "cauda longa" com "Compradores Virtuais", apoiar a negociação de CAPEX (via análise de Cost Breakdown) e padronizar cadastros de materiais através de PLN. Conclui-se que, apesar das barreiras significativas—como a necessidade de saneamento de dados e o desenvolvimento de novas competências—, a IA é fundamental para a eficiência operacional e a tomada de decisão estratégica em suprimentos.

The Purchasing area faces the challenge of balancing operational demands with the strategic needs of Procurement 4.0. Artificial Intelligence (AI) emerges as an essential tool to optimize this process. This exploratory study analyzes how AI is being applied in corporate purchasing. Through an explanatory framework methodology based on literature review and case studies (2022–2025), the research identifies the main applications of AI. The results indicate that AI is used to optimize supplier selection, automate the “long tail” with “Virtual Buyers,” support CAPEX negotiations (through Cost Breakdown analysis), and standardize material records through NLP. It is concluded that, despite significant barriers — such as the need for data cleansing and the development of new competencies — AI is fundamental to operational efficiency and strategic decision-making in Supply Management.
