Ecomic, ecosistema digitale per la cultura

Abstract

Ecomic - digital ecosystem for culture is a distributed collaborative environment promoted by Italy's Ministry of Culture to support the digital transformation of the cultural sector. This report describes the strategic vision, technological architecture and governance model of the ecosystem, structured around three enabling platforms: D.PaC (digitization of cultural heritage), I.PaC (infrastructure and services) and DPaaS (data product as a service platform). The ecosystem pursues three strategic objectives – Enablement, Interoperability and Valorisation – and is designed as a national infrastructure for generating cultural, social and economic value from digital heritage, in alignment with major European initiatives such as Europeana and the Cultural Heritage Cloud.
