Entre fragmentación y autoexamen disciplinar: la Snyderman House en el horizonte post-funcionalista

Abstract

El presente artículo examina la Snyderman House (Fort Wayne, 1976) en el contexto de las transformaciones teóricas que atraviesan la arquitectura norteamericana de mediados de la década de 1970, con especial atención al desplazamiento del denominado dispositivo fragmentario desde una crítica externa del orden representacional hacia una revisión interna de los fundamentos disciplinares. A partir del análisis de fuentes primarias publicadas en Progressive Architecture y de su articulación con el debate post-funcionalista formulado por Peter Eisenman, el estudio sostiene que la obra no debe interpretarse exclusivamente como ejercicio formal vinculado al grupo de los Five Architects, sino como operación reflexiva que interroga la autonomía, la composición y la condición semántica del objeto arquitectónico. En este marco, la vivienda se configura como laboratorio crítico en el que la fragmentación deja de operar como recurso estilístico para consolidarse como instrumento de autoexamen disciplinar, inscribiéndose en el horizonte más amplio de las neovanguardias arquitectónicas y en la reconfiguración teórica del lenguaje moderno.
