Abstract

Presentation delivered to the DisCouRSE Focus Group on the19th Janaury 2026 by Katie Best, Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Business School, King’s College London, and Leadership Consultant & Coach. The session explored the challenges and self-reflections involved in effective team leadership, examining common misconceptions, leadership styles, and practical strategies for developing strong, resilient, and high-performing teams within research and academic contexts.
