Análisis multicriterio: herramienta para priorizar áreas de restauración de ecosistemas de montaña

Abstract

El análisis para seleccionar áreas prioritarias para la restauración de ecosistemas proporciona información valiosa para la toma de decisiones en cuanto a la gestión de los recursos naturales y la conservación del ambiente. Utilizando criterios como el potencial de restauración, la distancia a zonas ribereñas, la topografía, la erosión del suelo, el grado de perturbación y el perfil de los beneficiarios, determinamos las áreas prioritarias para la restauración de los bosques ribereños en la zona alta de la cuenca del río La Antigua, Veracruz. Los resultados destacan áreas de prioridad alta y media, ubicadas en pendientes ligeras a medianamente inclinadas, cercanas a los ríos, y con bajo riesgo de incendios. Las áreas prioritarias se agrupan principalmente en la zona alta de la cuenca, principalmente en potreros. El análisis multicriterio fue una herramienta clave para integrar información espacial y la opinión de expertos sobre factores clave para la restauración, tales como la cercanía a los ríos, la cobertura vegetal, el uso de la tierra, la erosión del suelo y el riesgo de deslizamientos, que permitió generar un mapa de prioridades. El estudio resalta la importancia de los enfoques integradores para la restauración de estos ecosistemas, que no solo consideren factores ecológicos, sino también a las personas y las actividades productivas de la región, integrando conocimiento científico y local.
