The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Art and Human Creativity

Abstract

This paper explores the impact of artificial intelligence on art and human creativity, examining how technological systems are transforming artistic production, perception, and value. Art has always been closely tied to human experience, emotion, and cultural identity. AI-generated art challenges these foundations by creating outputs through data analysis instead of lived experience. The paper analyzes how AI expands access to artistic creation, reshapes definitions of originality, and influences economic and professional conditions within creative industries. It also addresses major ethical concerns like authorship, ownership, and using existing artwork in training datasets. The study considers how public perception of AI-generated art differs from human-made work and how this affects judgments of authenticity. The paper argues that the future of art will involve collaboration between humans and intelligent systems, with human meaning and intention still central to artistic value as technology plays a bigger role.
