Abstract

L’aspect du sujet abordé dans cette étude. Cette étude a caractérisé le profil épidémiologique, clinique et évolutif de l'HTA chez les patients de 18 à 39 ans consultant dans le principal centre hospitalier de référence du Gabon, à Libreville. Ce que cette étude apporte de nouveau. Elle révèle que près de 15 % des hypertendus suivis sont des adultes jeunes, avec un âge médian de 31 ans. L'HTA est sévère d'emblée (grade III) chez 30 % d'entre eux. Surtout, elle montre que les complications rénales (6,7 %) sont déjà présentes et que plus d'un tiers des patients (37 %) présentent un risque cardiovasculaire élevé ou très élevé, signalant une atteinte précoce et silencieuse.
