Abstract

L’aspect du sujet abordé dans cette étude. Cette étude a investigué, au sein des écoles de Libreville, les obstacles concrets qui entravent le dépistage des Troubles Visuels Non Corrigés (TVNC), en interrogeant non seulement les enfants, mais aussi leurs parents, leurs enseignants et les agents de santé scolaire. Ce que cette étude apporte de nouveau. Elle quantifie pour la première fois à Libreville une prévalence des TVNC de 18,9 % chez les 6-15 ans, avec une nette prédominance de myopie. Surtout, elle révèle une cascade de défaillances : 83 % des écoles sans programme de dépistage, 74 % des enseignants non formés, et 68,5 % des parents non informés. Le coût des lunettes freine 42,3 % des familles. Cet article est disponible en intégralité sur Health Sciences and Disease.
